Return to Service. Two and a half years after it was put into storage, Metrolink F59PHR 873 is back in service powering trains around Southern California. The last of Metrolink's original F59PH fleet, 873 was stored in the summer of 2020 as more new F125 units were brought into service. However, with some F125s and MP36PH units out for maintenance, a handful of F59PHRs were brought back to life. Units 856 and 868 have been running since the summer of 2022; 873 was brought back the week of 12/12 and is still just stretching its legs after a long rest. Here it leads train 306 into Claremont on a clear Monday morning.
