On the afternoon of January 20th, 2023, the New York Container Terminal Express Rail crew crosses Western Ave while pulling a cut of stacks towards Arlington Yard in Staten Island, New York. The crew is utilizing LTEX EMD MP15DC #1550, which is on long term lease due to the unreliability of the company's PL1500-4RS CLCX #2058 and GMTX's EMD SW1500 #173, which was leased as a replacement last year. 1550 was built in 1982 as Southern Railway (SOU) 2396, but had its reporting marks changed to Norfolk Southern (NS) shortly after the company merger. It was sold in 2017 to Larry's Trucking & Electric (LTEX) who serviced, repainted and renumbered the switcher before sending it out lease contracts.
