Remarks & Notes
Oldest operational steamlocomotive of Switzerland, Ec 2/5 # 28 "Genf", built in 1858 by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen/Germany for the Schweizerische Centralbahn, pulling a train with the cars of the Spanisch-Brötli-Bahn of 1947 (1847) between Leuzingen and Arch. After the line between Solothurn and Büren an der Aare was shut down in 2003 (passenger service had ceased in 1994), the catenary was removed, making this section one of the very few in Switzerland without an overhead line.
