Sunset on the Rockville. Recently I have found myself photographing more of the shortline railroading around the country. Usually you are relegated to working with the weather or lighting that occurs when that operation has their 1x per week move, but when you spend any time at the well known Rockville bridge outside of Norfolk Southern's hub in Enola, PA you can expect ample moves and opportunities. This fall evening found an eastbound container train drifting across the bridge after making its trip down the Pittsburg line. The timing provided a perfect opportunity for a soft sunset and silhouette as it continued its journey into the evening.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
