During, before and after the Lauberhorn ski races in January, the Wengernalp Railway is always working at full capacity. As there is no road to Wengen, all equipment and visitors have to be transported on the 80 centimeter gauge cogwheel railroad. After the downhill race on saturday, for the transport of spectators back to Wengen-Lauterbrunnen, there circulated shuttle trains between Allmend and Wengen with 60 years old vehicles.
