On a bleak winter-like day, an empty coal train off the MKT heads east on the former Frisco main line after skirting Frisco’s abandoned Rosedale Yard, and is now approaching the Katy’s Glen Park Yard on December 8, 1985. Since leaving the power plant in Texas, the train has been pulled by Katy EMD SD40-2 No. 626, along with a trio of run-through Cascade green Burlington Northern units—a GE C30-7, EMD SD40-2 and a GE U30C. The train will bypass Glen Park Yard and head for BN’s Murray Yard.
