Sixties Interior.
On display in the NY Transit Museum is New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R33S no. 9306, which was one of 40 cars built by the St. Louis Car Co. in 1963. These were arranged as single cars, with operating cabs at both ends, and were used to create 11-car trains for service on the 7. The model last ran in 2003, after which a handful were preserved and most were converted for work service. 9306 is notably the only R33S that was never refurbished, and thus still features its original 1963 interior. The NYTM has accented this with the addition of period-correct advertisements and maps! The car is used often on excursions with the "Train of Many Colors," and is a fan favorite in its blue and white World's Fair paint scheme.
