The ETR 470 (from Italian ElettroTreno Rapido) or colloquially Pendolino is a dual-current tilting train from Fiat Ferroviaria operated by Trenitalia with approvals in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Greece. The Swiss Federal Railways also used this type of vehicle until 2014. From 1994 to 1997, a total of 9 trains were built for the company Cisalpino, a joint venture between the Italian FS and the Swiss SBB. After Cisalpino was dissolved in December 2009, SBB continued to operate 4 trains until 2014. They were known for their numerous breakdowns, which were probably also caused by a lack of maintenance. In 2015, the trains were finally withdrawn from service and scrapped, with the exception of the end carriage of train ETR 470 # 009, which has since been stored in the Erstfeld depot and belongs to SBB Historic. As things stand today, this carriage is now also to be demolished. In the foreground, shunter Tem II # 277 with diesel and electric drive built in 1967, of SBB Historic based in Erstfeld.
