are the gates down?? man people are just plane stupid, hope no one was hit or injured
there aren't any crossing arms there from what I can see
If someone had been hit, he would have posted that picture! I'm not sure of the crossing gate setup in downtown LaGrange, but that seems a *little* too close for comfort!

Hmm, classic day to day
Shoot, if somebody would have gotten hit, that would have been the first picture I would have submitted. Somebody that retarded deserves to have everybody know, that way you'll have the instinct to stay away from them.
And by looking at the drivers, they aren't pay attention and don't care seeing that the train is there...disguisting
One of the cars is for Dominos Pizza...better send this picture to the Dominos he works for!
amazing
I work for Amtrak and I've seen this all the time... People approach an ungated area and see the train coming, so they gun it. I've actually stood out there holding and waving my hands as a train approached (albeit slowly) and had five cars AND a city bus ignore me, I ended up screaming at the next driver and standing in front of his car with my hand out before he got the picture I was serious. And the engineer blasting the horn didn't phase them either. I dunno.
Note the crossing in the background; you Kentuckians need gates!
We can only take your word for it that the train is moving; and in the direction towards traffic, but I'd like to see another pic of say when the train actually gets to the crossing. Those people seem very nonchalant. They can't really be that stupid...........can they???
How fast was the train going, about?
Yes, People are that stupid
This is perfect for my Drivers Ed. class "what not to do at a train crossing". How fast WAS the train going?
> Trains can only go 10 mph till the locomotive clears the street running, then the train speeds up to 35-40 mph. Every since 2003, CSX was going to overhaul the tracks to end street-running. They were going to put up curbs to keep cars off the tracks, close three streets and add gates. Since that time, nothing has happened! These crossings have no gates. One accident did take place in December 3, 2003. CSX hit a van that pulled in front of it and the van hit a car already parked. THe car careened into a nearby store and broke the window out. This is one of the many reasons CSX wants to end street-running. Kentucky don't have the funds for the project to take shape. So, this always continues to take place at this crossing. The place is wat too conjested!
Dumb...that's all I have to say about this
idiots
One thing that you should know in this world, especially drivers is that they are completed retarded! They lose all self control and go into auto-pilot without any alerts. Its a simple lesson which is you SIMPLY CANNOT CURE STUPID! If I was the engineer of that locomotive I wouldn't even stop, full ahead on my part. These people get in my way, sure thing, I need the money and they can pay for the damages because they are on private property while operations are in full swing.
So people dont get hit they should have the local police there.

Train Crew shouldn't care, they're in a 200 ton Locomotive plus the weight of the consist. Motorists like that deserve to get hit.
I don't think they even see it.
