By the placard on the tank , I think it was phosphoric acid.

Phil..you are right! That is phosphoric acid, UN1805, Class 8. It reacts readily with most metals to form flammable hydrogen gas. I'm guessing we'd read about a spill involving this stuff. They obviously handled the situation well and kept the contents contained.
