The diesels in the center are not "Babyface" Baldwins, they are pre-war built, Alco-GE DL109, 2000 h.p., twin-engined, dual-service locomotives, of which the New Haven owned 60 examples. In it's history, the NYNH&H had only two Baldwin diesels, the twin power units built specifically for it's "Train-X," a Pullman-Standard built, low-slung, articulated lightweight streamliner.
