Steve, don't be overly surprised with the abrupt pounding on your door within the next few days. It'll be Special Agents from the Treasury Department coming to arrest you for destroying/defacing government property. I expect they'll thank you for providing the evidence above.

Bravo, Steve! Captured perfectly midair and at just the right angle. Wonderful detail and lighting. Looking up close I see you even took the precaution to use a Canadian penny, yeah, that's it. Canadian. A very difficult shot pulled off with remarkable results.

I take full responsibility for capturing the destruction of U.S. currency. How it happened to be on the rails, is different issue, for which I admit no knowledge. Probably left there by the youngsters I shooed off the tracks moments before the arrival of this train.
|
"Change you can count on"...LOL! That's beautiful....as is this shot! I always wondered if coins placed on the rails actually were spit out by the wheels....now, I have proof....and I'll stand further back when I see the kids doing this. Good capture Steve, I think AB(2) will love this one when he sees it. :o)

Absolutely suburb theme and timing. This was perfect. And the pun was good too!

Amazing photo, but it is a felony to place any object on the track, I trust you that it was'nt you that placed the coins on the track, but kids did.
|
Well it looks like less than a dollar to me so I seriously doubt the Feds will come and hunt you down for destruction of government property. I have an idea, how about all you finger pointing know it alls just appreciate the photo, the effort it took to catch this act and stop giving Steve crap about it.
|
Well said Cavranger!
|
Beautiful and powerful capture of flying coins, flying rock also.
|

"I have an idea, how about all you finger pointing know it alls just appreciate the photo, the effort it took to catch this act and stop giving Steve crap about it." - Anyone who knows me at all knows that when the "crap" stops it's because I'm dead. Now, on a serious note Steve, tell us how you timed this jewel, or was it simply a matter of a high-speed burst when the wheel first hit the change ???
|
Great shot! I've always wanted to see what happened while the train was running over the coins.

I thought I had seen it all. It turns out that I hadn't, but I have now! Brilliant picture.

Thanks for all the comments!
To answer the timing question - 90% burst mode, 5% luck, 5% skill.

100% reason to remember the name!

TAILS!!! Great shot.

WOW, great shot! I remember as a kid my grandfather putting a penny on the tracks for the train at BR&WRR to flatten out.
