Milwaukee had very few Baldwins, that is what makes this photo so special.

Great shot! This might be a dumb question but what was inside the nose on these high hoods?

A couple had steam generators for working the Minneapolis coach yards most all ended up with the Milwaukee's concrete ballast container. Most short hood locomotives on the Milwaukee had pissers(a cone with a pipe that ran down over the front truck)or a full toilet....You haven't lived until you had to go"POTTY"in the short hood of a locomotive at speed! ITS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE...remember the sand box is behind you to that leaks too.........

you haven't lived until you have tried to use a old SP's Microphor toilet on the road.
