That driveway into the pit is so they can get cranes down in there to pull the locmotives out when they somehow make it past the derail lol

The roundhouse is only 1/3 it's original size, as it in steam days extended around to the track in the upper left that leads to the turntable. In the first few stalls at the very bottom of the photo, the area in the "house" is used for oil, oil filter and lube service. An interesting series of shots Tom. See you got over your fear of airplanes!
