Love the way your image is lit off of the side...with the sun obscured by the clouds. Nice angle you chose too, to shoot from. Hopefully a s/c award for this nice looking image.

Impressive locomotive, yes, but even a much more impressive image. Great lighting and composition with this one, Mitch.
|
One classic photograph Mitch. The lighting and composition really go hand and hand here. Thanks for sharing.

Very impressive photo, Mitch!

Amazing! This is an absolutely gorgeous picture, Mitch.
|
Awesome image of my favorite locomotive type (the NKP Berk). Well done.
|
Wow, tremendous, so much to see, so many details beyond the fantastic overall: the light and texture on the cylinders and tender, the driver tires, the light fixture on the turntable, great shot, great processing.

I can only echo those other guys - superb in every way

Awesome, I am mostly a fan of the Canadian Pacific Locomotives, but those Berks just have a draw to them. NKP 765 is my Favorite American Locomotive, that is one good looking Locomotive.

Very nice Mitch!

It's like a steel Victoria Secret model on the runway.

The white light combined with black and grey clouds and the blue of the sky
bring out the black flat iron connecting rod, the pistons, and the white-circled wheels.
We almost can hear the white steam thundering.
great colored shot! PCA for me.

Cracking shot, Mitch! PC voted.

Best of the bunch from Owosso that I have seen so far. A very dramatic take on what otherwise might have been a mundane scene.....and I hope you tipped that cloud generously for getting in the way at just the right time.
|
Gorgeous! Your processing skills are becoming incredible. What a great thing to look at. Glad we finally met at this very turntable!
|
Wow, this is impressive. Mitch, it looks HDR to me. Is it an HDR?
|
Thanks for all the kind comments! As for the photo, it is not an HDR. I took the photo shooting directly into the sun which is the main reason for the glow and contrast. The photo is pretty much as seen and captured with the exception of a fair amount of sharpening and shadow recovery which brought back some details which were originally rather dark, specifically the nose and side of the engine.

Outstanding image Mitch.

When Mother Nature and Human kind get together what a show. This is truly beautiful. Thank you Mitch.
|
Beautiful detail capture, Mitch! Highlights are perfect!
