Mitch, you're taking abandoned ROW photography to new heights.....or perhaps in this case, new "lows"! Stunning image. I'll bet the story of how you got down there is equally compelling. Top of the day coming up!

Really good composition and lighting, as well as an interesting subject I had not heard about before. Thanks for the effort.
|
A sweet shot in several dimensions.

Wow. Thanks for sharing Mitch. It's unreal to imagine what an inferno this would have been with that much action in the days of steam.
|
Thats a neat picture. I wonder what it would seem like with 4 steam engines going through there, I dont think you would be able to see through smoke.
That probably hasnt seen rail traffic in 20 years

More fascinating ghost routes of the Reading. Or...is that a headlight down at the far end? Great natural bounce lighting, and amazing detail. Thanks, Mitch. How long before the dirt bike folks find this?
|
I am not worthy... I bow down to you.
|
Well done Mitch. We have some interesting tunnels out here you could try your hand at.
|
I still really like it, even on RP. Great shot bub.

Hmm ... what kind of movie scene could this be a set for?
Is it haunted by railway ghosts?

Stunning capture, absolutely amazing from the history standpoint and also (especially) because it is a view so very few people ever get to witness in person let alone on "film". I would dearly Love a copy of this for my wallpaper on my laptop, thanks so much for your wonderful work and abilities at capturing a "feeling" to share with us. BRAVO!

What a fabulous photo of long since vanished rail line! Your photo really provokes the mind to recreate images of days gone by. Good job!

What an amazing relic of railroading. I'd think it would be a great place for bike paths and walking trails. A way for people to get through Philly, without worrying about crossing streets, or tracks.
