Nice shot of special move; I love the super-elevation. It's great to know that No. 4449 and her engineer Doyle are are still out and showing everyone how it's done!

Thanks for sharing this historic and beautiful photo. Picking up on your interesting story, upon arrival in Omaha, the contour of the drivers on 4449 was corrected by UP forces. The rest of the AFT consist was led by diesels and went west staying on schedule. For a shot of the steam ferry move west in early October to catch up with the AFT, led by UP 8444, click here
