Fantastic shot John! As an aside I remember seeing a number of UP FA's pass through my hometown of Trout Lake, MI in early 1964 to spend a couple months on lease to CPR.

Oh, for a 'measly' FA today! What a great shot, John! Some of us out here are very thankful that you weren't struck with that dreaded disease, 'Dieselphobia;' as a lot of foamers from that generation seemed to be. I love steam, but the early diesels and their great colors are sorely missing in good, sharp quality. Your shots are so great to enjoy. Please keep them coming!

It's worth noting, from a historical time reference, that the very weekend John shot these photos there was social strife in the U.S. In far-away Little Rock, AK., President Eisenhower would deploy the 101st Airborne on American soil in an effort to enforce a court ruling that allowed black students to attend Central High.

John, the UP FA would have been plenty, but putting it on a turntable with a roundhouse behind it hurts too much! Please take the pix down. (-:
