This car is not an ex Southern Pacific Car. It is a Northern Pacific dome car. What was the other car on the cardinal that day? Also, I think you may have mistaken the locomotive. Im pretty sure you were being pulled by a GE P42DC. Nice catch too by the way!

The NP dome is owned by Tom McOwen of Cincinnati and the SP sleeper Birch Grove is owned by Brian Collins, also of Cincinnati. These cars are part of the Cincinnati Railway private car fleet. http://www.cincinnatirailway.com for more information.
