I have been lucky to have had 2 invitations to "come on up". Both have come while in my 30's, but I can tell you, inside I felt like a teenager again. The first time I was offered a ride into town, but I would've had no way to get back the 50 miles to my truck. I wish I could've accepted. The second time I was offered a ride that I didn't turn down! A ride in a Black Widow E8A (Arizona Eastern 6070) isn't one that I could let get away. With the permission of the engineer, I have even posted the video that I shot of that ride on that other video sharing website.

I was lucky a couple of times, too. I grew up in the S.F. Bay area. The local there used to go down the old Dumbarton lead, and I was lucky enough to become friends with the engineer and conductor and ride the local down the track a few times.
