It's hard for us back east to remember that not all CB&Q passenger trains attained "Zephyr status."
Though 195 miles in 4 hrs is not a shabby average speed considering intermediate stops.

A check of CB&Q's Winter 1966-67 timetable indicates that #20 offered a direct connection at Omaha from CB&Q #42, the overnight train from Billings, MT. #20 departed Omaha at 0800, arriving Kansas City at 12:10 for an average speed of 47 mph. Not bad for a secondary train making 4 intermediate stops

That is some model railroad like sharp curves in the track....a prototype for everything they say!
