I SURE HOPE those last 2 cars are dead-heading to Albany or beyond. Otherwise folks will have a tough time navigating through the baggage car to get to dinner.

Wow! This is a fantastic shot. Congrats. The New York Central as well as Amtrak would've been proud to have this on their annual calendar. This photo should make everyone want to run out and get an Amtrak ticket to somewhere. Again, congratulations on a fine capture.

The above comment is so true. When I showed my wife she "ordered" to book us a trip to NY to get on board the Lake Shore Limited. She hasn't always been a rail fan, but when we got married it didn't take her long. Thank you AMTRAK. Many thanks to Mr. Hamlin for taking the pic and posting it!

The folks in the rear 2 cars don't have to worry about their meals. That's Amtrak's sleeper and office car. Looks like it's an executive trip or, perhaps, a deadhead move positioning the cars for an executive trip. It's not hard negotiating a baggage car. There are doors on each end, and the crews working baggage cars always leave an aisleway down the center, in case they need to reach the rear of the car. A good passageway for passengers? No. Easy to negotiate for an employee? Yes.
