I notice that there are two kinds of catenary masts - straight and curved. I would be interested to know why this is the case.

The straight masts are only in places where a new section of catenary begins and therefore carry the weights of 1000 kg to tension the catenary. The other masts are only curved for aesthetic reasons.

This is the first 25 Kv line built in Netherland, they wanted a curved design catenary pole. They also needed straight pole compatible with the 25kv constraint, the weight for stretch the catenary and certainly around sub-station power, need this one.
