Ah.. the prototype that Amtrak was to use upon it's formation and on through the 90's. Hard to believe such a station was deemed suitable for the Santa Fe. Nicely captured and composed.

I have a slide my parents took where there is another San Clemente sign posted in the brackets on the roof of the "Station". That San Clemente is bracketed by 2 Sante Fe roundels. Unfortunately, they did not take a photo of the train we took down to San Diego.
