Interesting shot. This wasn't the lead locomotive, was it? Did you get a shot of the 18-wheeler?

If this was the lead engine, I know one thing for sure it did not take long for that engineer to decide to become a conductor.

I think it might be in their best interest to utilize that warranty! Coming up to grade crossings always has me on the edge of the seat. Good to hear about the crew, this looks like a nasty collision.

It's always good to hear the crew came out of it safe. I would say the Engineer is a lucky man.

It had to be a trail loco, looking at the direction the handrails are bent behind the cab and the fact the cab wall is on the nose.

It was certainly a trailing unit. Look at the direction of the rear corner pillar of the cab as well as everything else.
