All those break-in-twos certainly would have happened between Denver and Grand Junction.. Almost continuous curvature. Neat explanation!

One time I was a conductor putting together an empty train at a power plant. Dispatcher told me there was a "double stripe" (as we called them locally) in the train and I'd have to wait for the car dept. to come and assist. Sensing a long day, the brakeman and I found a very long and thick pry bar in the maintenance shed. We had the engineer bunch the slack, stuck the pry bar in the hole in the top of one of the knuckles and turned it so they were situated properly. Pulled it out to the yard and switched the double stripe out. Car dept. showed up and grinned and said "We won't even ask how you did that!" Got the quit. Haha!
