What a great photo. I love those old EMD SW9's and the ALCO 1000's because that is what my father drove. He would take me with him when he worked the night shift so I got to be very familiar with that type of engine.

This unit was built for Lehigh Valley and numbered 126 when new. It then went to Conrail and was re-numbered 8653. Terry Coal Company of Armstrong Co. PA used the x-Contrail unit to shift coal hoppers under his tipple. The unit then went to Rosebud Mining. The unit was repainted in yellow, equipped with radio remote control and named Lady Jane. The unit now is part of the Kiski Junction Railroad.

SW9's have two stacks. (V12 engine) This is an SW900.
