This is amazing and I am surprised this is not screener's choice yet. These are traces of the primal stages of what was to become railroading. AMAZING find.

Incredible find, and a great photo to show the discover. Shame it doesn't get more recognition than it does on RP though.

@James Burlington: Yes, they are. As a professional archaeologist, we consider anything more than 50 years old to be noteworthy.

From what I can find out , a section of the track is being stabilised and has been acquired for display by the National Railway Museum, so that's good news
