These units were long singled out a boondoggle, as they came on the scene just as military strategists decided to use on and off road trucks or heavy lift helicopters, from forward air bases to move supplies to where they were needed, as opposed to using available rail infrastructure. Rail lines were considered too vulnerable and not flexible enough to fit in their concepts of fighting a war.

I hope to get to painting her next year. Working on finishing paint on ICG 7738 and Seaboard 77500 Safety Car currently. Since the museum has no indoor facilities winter will halt painting activities soon.
