He's almost to the mainline. Interesting perspective from the panel track Charles. Big Boy 4014 will undergo restoration to operate by 2019. However, Union Pacific still has to figure out if they can make this beast burn oil like the 844 and 3985 do. the last time they tried it, 0n Big Boy #4005, it was a complete failure, the firebox was too big and wouldn't heat or burn evenly. If they have to use coal in this guy, don't look for it to be used very often, especially with the EPA and the new regulations about coal they are trying to mandate!
