And only one other visible person at the station seems to notice.

I remember seeing the Chief on the BNSF Marceline Sub rocketing with these trains length and 4 jacks on head end. Pretty cool.

I've seen pictures of just the plaza portion of this terminal, but glad to see the rest of the building. Love the old spanish style stations. Thanks for sharing this one Craig.

Cool shot, did not know Amtrak had road railers.

Regarding Billie's comment, a little clarification for those unfamiliar with Fullerton. The Amtrak station is the building to the right, with the crowd in front of it. This is the former Santa Fe station. The other Spanish-style building across the parking lot is the old Union Pacific station, which used to be to the left of the tracks (in this photo) and across Harbor Boulevard (which the Amtrak train is crossing over) - and turned 90ยบ from this orientation. The UP depot was moved to its current location (because UP was no longer using it) and is now an Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant. The Union Pacific branch, which paralleled the Santa Fe through here, was removed years ago. (And not far away, on the far side of the Amtrak depot, is an old Pacific Electric depot that is also now a restaurant.)
