Oh, to have seen this in person. I could have; I was alive at the time. Trouble was I was about 1700 miles away with no money or a car because I was 4 years old. I wonder if this was done by Jim Ehrenberger, Richard Kindig, or Bob Richardson?

We don't see livestock cars anymore. Nor the telegraph poles with all the signal wires. We lost much more than steam since this photo was taken, haven't we. I remember walking the alongside the track picking berries. Don't see them growing anymore either. Many memories. Seeing old steam photos makes me miss more than the chugging of the locomotive.

Richard Kindig, who witnessed this rare occurrence, told me this was a bauxite shipment. Very heavy, which explains the rare pusher.
