Whole LOT of history here. THis is one of a small group of Grand Trunk units that were sold to SEMTA (South East Michigan Transportation Agency) for a short-lived Detroit commuter service. When that service ceased, it went to Boston's MBTA, originally for work train service. MBTA's ex-SEMTA units were also utilized as station switchers in both Boston's North & South Stations, and on rare occasions stood-in for ailing commuter road units. MBTA "retired" this group of units some years ago. Glad to see that at least one of them has found yet another life. The battery box cover looks to be of either Santa Fe or Chessie origin.

A CORRECTION to my earlier comment. CNZR 905 is the ONLY one of the 5 SEMTA GP-10s that was NOT a Grand Trunk unit, being in fact, the former MBTA / Penn Central 7559 (nee NYNH&H 1229) which was regularly used on commuter trains out of Boston South Station, running on former New Haven lines. This MAY be the only loco owned by MBTA TWICE, both before and after its sojourn in Michigan and rebuilding into a GP-10. Being on CNZR is essentially "coming home" to former NYNH&H trackage.
