Not quite clear. The MK5000C was a Cat-powered 5000hp locomotive. Utah 5003 is now an SD50-3 - a 3500hp EMD 710-powered locomotive. 5003 was converted to EMD power from a failed Cat prototype.

Actually a correction on that; these MK units are powered by a 16-645F3B mated to an AR11 alternator, they do indeed produce 3500 HP, and mechanically, they are identical to an EMD SD50.
