I was 8 years old when this was taken. I remember riding with up onto the ore docks about this same time with my uncle as he was an engineer for Great Northern.

Love this shot Bill! I am a huge fan of Big Sky Blue. The reason the 562 was painted BSB was because of fire damage sustained during a fire near the yard office at 17th St. in Superior back on September 4, 1967. The 562 and sister SD7 569 were both involved and the 569 took the brunt of the damage but both engines were badly damaged. They were both repaired at Dale St. Shops in June 1968 and both received Big Sky Blue. Neat Story.
