In 2003, British Columbia (Canada) had seen a 5 year interior drought that brought fires to the Okanagan Mountain Park and burned more than 20,000 acres including some 200 homes in Kelowna. Worse yet was the fires reached the famous Myra Canyon (the most expensive and difficult railway route in Canada that CPR undertook [the Kettle Valley Railroad]) which had 16 historic wooden railway trestles, 12 were destroyed. The BC Government appointed a Task Force to reconstruct these because of their heritage, recreational and tourism values. During 2004-2008, seven were rebuilt but with less strength as these were no longer for railway purposes, resembling the original trestles. Its always sad to see these lost, no matter what the cause. Hope you have some other captures from this place Jordan. Thanks for sharing.
