You have to wonder WHY they went through the cost and effort of applying the "P&W" logos when the units are going to be transferred elsewhere in a few weeks.

So sad to see another old American railroad fall prey to the monopoly that is Genesee & Wyoming.
|
P&W bought these for a reason. What will they be getting to replace them?
|
Monopoly! I would rather see orange and black than no rail service. G&W has rescued lots of short lines that would have no service today had it not been for them.

That Co is richer than i thought, usually they buy old power .

I know it's well intended but I find something deeply disturbing when we feel we have to justify ourselves to everyone with caveats and legalese with every shot. Can't we just answer the question if anybody asks. I detest political correctness. What's next, must we keep copies of the release in perpetuity and risk prosecution if we don't have it?

Sid - I don't disagree, but apparently some folks still believe they are entitled to go wherever they please on company property. I've been told to add this so people don't think they can just walk in. I'm just following rules, not that I like it, but much like the vest, glasses and hard hat on property or minimal the first two, I don't have to like it to still have to follow them.

I never thought I would see such a large locomotive in G&W paint Kevin. Not the typical loco of a short line. Thanks for posting, Kevin.
