Oh great! Now Sounder has these new cab cars. Well, we won't be see these mid train. I wonder what will happen to the older cab cars.

The old cab cars still do their intended duty, as there are not enough new cab cars to relegate the old to mid-train service. I recently saw a train with a new cab car, followed by two old cab cars.
