It always struck me curious how Amtrak likes to run elephant style with locomotives.

Keep in mind F40PH have no nose doors so it did not matter what way they ran. So why take the time and effort to rotate a locomotive for ascetics. At least they could get into one unit if they need to use the radio or escape so drama happening in the train!!
