It became the GM Renaissance Center on recently. GM was HQ'd in General Motors Place, a beautiful building across Detroit. It was in dire need of a complete remodel. Instead of spending a decade moving people around, they purchased the Ren Center in 1996, and the final employees moved in in 2001, after it was renovated. The old building, now called "Cadillac Place", houses Michigan Governmental offices, which compliment the offices in Lansing. It too was completely renovated.
