Where I worked a little, way back. 70 hump tracks. We would pull the hump tracks, doubling and pulling on the near track blocking the crossings and then shove to one of the outbound tracks. The yard master or the switch tender?? forgot the name in a building below the yard office would guard she shove. We would only have a little FM switch and they were really maxed as the track was a little uphill, often with sparks flying.

That would have been neat to see. The FM's in my area were gone before I ever ventured trackside.
