Nice shot - with an Erie liveried leader, no less. Though, having read your caption, wishing it was a NKP. Thanks for the detailed caption and map link. Didn't know about this location. Looking at the parallel ground level track, wondering why they bothered with a trestle - maybe they thought the trestle route would be "fun". Or perhaps covering the river was a bit more of a project.

Mitch, it is a rather unique line with many trestles like this. The NKP paralleled the New York Central (former LS&MS) along the lake shore, but where the NYC used large fills with stone "tunnels" to cross these gorges on their 4 track mainlines, the NKP opted for bridges on its single track line. While I'm sure these trestles aren't cheap to build, I have to imagine they were cheaper than the fills the NYC built.
