Don Ball, Jr. captured a westbound LV passenger train making this engine change in his book, "The Pennsylvania Railroad: 1940s-1950s." Riding the GGI he depicted several images including the PRR position light signal at the east end of the pocket track with the LV PA1's waiting in the clear. Father down the main track I recall he captured a semaphore signal guiding traffic into the pocket track from the west end. See also the two dwarf signals shown here to direct movements exiting the pocket track. His last photograph was the view through the PA1's windshield as they pulled away. He commented how smooth and silent the GG1 was compared to the diesels.
