it's great to see them still operating. I got to watch them in the 70s. My favorirtes were the 0-6-0 shunters locking the brakes and sliding to a halt after a carlength or so. I guess flat wheels were no problem.

Thanks Sid. None of the DJs are in freight operations anymore having all been retired by the time KiwiRail was established (2008.) Great looking locomotives but quite under-powered for main lines and their 2% grades!
