Both are the state of affairs railroads and more importantly, our societies must face.

Oddly enough, some CP (and VIA) trains wore these in the 1970s and 80s in Alberta - but that was to protect against projectiles and loose loads on trucks in grade crossing accidents, rather than rock throwers....
