Am enjoying seeing this livery alive and well. Almost said alive and well 'again' but RI wasn't exactly well in the era of its origin. I still remember the book "Track Planning for Realistic Operation" by Kalmbach that I got in early 1980s which for a cover photo had a couple fellows working on a circle of HO train track atop the low nose of a RI loco in this paint. Eventually gave book to a new modeler; latest edition has different cover photo.

Track Planning for Realistic Operation" featured a Conrail engine on that cover. I just found that book while doing some remodeling.

Oh. Maybe I should have done an image search first! Did just now and that issue had a wide white band across top of cover - above the Conrail locomotive's numberboards. I'll guess that my 30 years later memory blended the blue and white.
