About that boxcar, well its a old 40 ft. reefer. Iwas driving over the pass one day and parked my Datsun B210 a good little get around 5 speed that ran into me one day yes running a red light. Well he sold it to me for 3 Grants and this was back in the late 80"s. Iwent down and was looking for the tunnel entrance for the Milwaukee Road and discovered this reefer off to the side of the track with the door broken open and I went in and found out it was loaded with a lot of coal and various pieces of wood. I think the insides were sided with wood. Yea it was one of those old late steam era reefers that paraded so uniformly behind the old steamers or F-units depending if they were full or mty. A fruit block was what they called them and they were given the HI-5 green light for priority when loaded. But a fruit train still took a siding for those passenger trains usually. Thanks Bill. Appreciate you dedication to Railpictures.net. The fall colors r ere 2.
