Nice photo. You snapped your photo from just about the same location where the maintenance workers cut into the 'Curve' when the K4s was removed from the 'Curve'. It hard to imagine that the K4s has been off of the 'Curve' for a longer period of time than when it was on display! It was on display at the 'Curve for 28 years and it has been removed off of the 'Curve' for almost 36 years. The 1361 sure made the climb up to the viewing area worth the climb!

Thanks for your comments. Yes, those were the days. I, too would like to go back to about 1946-47 and watch the steam parade. My first visit was in 1973 and the first train that we saw was a westbound mail train led by a combo of seven E7s and E8s; not steam, but the sound was incredible. Still hoping to see the 1361 in steam again.
