There are some really cool trails along the river where you can see the Ledges that gave this city it's name. There also was some talk, though it was a while ago and just speculation, that part of an ambitious rail plan in Michigan would have trains go from Ann Arbor to Traverse City, and another from Detroit to Lansing and even Grand Rapids, which would go over this bridge. This plan seems to start and stop. They're currently planning on putting in a large transit center in downtown Detroit for Amtrak, the planned Michigan trains, the Detroit tram lines, Greyhound, and Indian Trails(Michigan's transit bus company)
