I always thought that Monon had one of the better F-unit paint schemes, and was appreciative that the ITM continued that legacy. A shame that it simply languishes like this now...

Per a recent TRAINS Mag "News Wire" article, these have now been rescued by the folks at the Fort Wayne RHS and moved out to prevent further deterioration. Doesn't sound like an operational return is in the cards for any of them, but scrapping has been averted, at least.

As shown in my photo the units are now in their current storage location in North Central Indiana and have been for awhile after being moved from Noblesville. From what I have read the prime movers were removed to make the move easier. The TRAINS story is a little late on the draw but is informative.
